eadon-com: The bible is fictional, contradictions or no contradictions. The presence of contradictions takes credibility away from the bible, where as the lack of contradictions proves absolutely nothing other than the lack of contradictions

FoamingFundy: the Bible is perfect, written by more the 42 writers that never met, no communicated, and yet not one contradiction can be found. the was over at least a 3000-5000 year span of writings.

eadon-com: Here is a contradiction - according to the timescale of the bible the earth is only 6000 years old. A bishop measured the timescale back to creation and it was only 6000 years. That is a contradiction because it is obviously untrue. There are thousands of similar instances where the bible contradicts reality

eadon-com: modern science shows that the earth was created nearly 5,000 million years ago. That is impressive, and the bible is silent on this. The earth is just under 5,000 million years old, FoamingFundy.

FoamingFundy: eadon, the Bible does not age the earth at 6000 year old, the earth has been destroyed twice by floods for sin, but its foundation was never destroyed it is for ever.

eadon-com: we also know the universe is about three times the age of the earth. The bible doesn't hint at that either. So as far as contradictions go, it is better to believe science, which is internally consistent, than religion that is speculation on unprovable and improbable stories

FoamingFundy: many think the earth has been destroyed only once due to the sin of the land, but the Bible clearly gives TWO ACCOUNTS OF THE EARTH BEING OVERFLOWED WITH WATER.

eadon-com: well science shows that there have been several mass extinctions over hundreds of millions of years and can date them. That is more impressive than the bible's floods.
