Subject:Carrots and Jesus - direct link ?
Comment:Dear Loving Sisters and Brothers, I am writing to You, although I find it quite a difficult task, for I can not see what I am writing, tears in my eyes being a reason for my temporary (I hope) luck of focus and eye control. I was deeply touched by the Carrot Song and stories associated with it and I can not understand how You could possibly make such terrible jokes about it. Carrot Song is a pure Love, it is Bible, Buddhism and Zen merged together. It shatters the shutters we imposed on our perceiving ends, it destroys our conceptions and reveals the TRUE nature of the Universe. It tells us about God and the power we have within ourselves if only we could shed and throw out our stupid and misleading images we so desperately hung to every single second of our lives, believing that those very perceptions of what we think is reality will save us from going Mad. The song proves in simple, if not skimpy terms, what we all subconsciously know already, and what we knew from the moment of our conception or even beyond that. The song clearly states that everything is possible, that we, as observers, shape and create the world we live in. The song proves that if one changes the point of observation, the nature will react accordingly, for there is no 'nature', there is no 'us' .. there is only 'observer' and 'point of observation'. The song exclaims one very important fact: it is only children who have power to achieve unachievable for they simply do not know that unachievable cannot be achieved. Once they learn that they will be like the rest of us.... but in the meantime children enjoy the power normally associated with God only.... and because they are humble by nature and by the fact that they have no concept of God.... they are Godly themselves....

Comment:Growing up and getting old is about becoming this child again.... Older people understand this truth and they suddenly understand how much 'power' and 'freedom' they had when they were young.... Curling up, shrinking and becoming childish and hopeless is hence a natural flow of evolution which progresses with age... Love and belief is all it takes to change one's word....Love and belief are, in fact, two different aspects of the same entity.... Love and Belief is just a method of shifting one's point of observation... and as scientific world proved AGES ago - shifting one's point of observation will change the results of experiment. So Jesus was right. His message was simple: 'Shift and Paradise will be yours - right here, right now!' But we are too scared to shift.... we are like rabbits... we dig big holes and tunnels... we get used to our predefined routes....We are hangers... we keep hanging to whatever image our brain produced.....We enslaved ourselves... Jesus and Buddha and others were right! Long Live Dolphins (and Carrots of course) !

Subject:Carrot Seed
Comment:I enjoyed your witty comments on the Carrot Seed . Not only was it a book but as a kid I had a small record player which i would play over and over and over the carrot Seed Song. My older brother and sister would tease me saying it wont come up. Years later while rebounding from my recovery i realized my collection of 6 records including carrot seed with dust jacket and pull lenght picture of a kid and his Carrot was gone . I think theres a hidden meaning here as you grow older . The carrot does grow the problem is remembering where you put it last.

Subject:I remember the story and song
Comment:I had an old 78 record of that story and song. The little brother keeps saying 'Na na it won't come up - your carrot won't come up'. Part of the main song says 'I watered it, I pulled the weeds... carrots grow from carrot seeds.' Is this the same one you remembered? As a child I loved that record. - Louise
