Subject:Coincidences
Comment:While reading 'Coincidences' a coincidence happened to me. Fragile X. I'd never heard of this genetic condition. A co-worker mentioned it. Then six hours later at home I read up to page 160 in 'Coincidences' where GM Plaskett describes it. Other paralleling and contrapuntal sparks - I was reading three books at the time (alternating of course, one day one, one day the other, depending which book was in view and which was hidden under the loads of crap my wife collects, god bless her in case she's reading). 'Buddhism Plain and Simple' by Steve Hagen, and 'The Cunning Man,' by Robertson Davies. In the first there is emphasis on the inter-connectedness of everything (Plaskett's idea too) and in the second the word 'Parsifal' is used several times (the second book, though fiction, is speculative about so-called 'spiritual notions'). I could go on. Maybe later.

Subject:Penn and Teller
Comment:Penn of Penn and Teller in that commercial said it well, though he may have been quoting someone else... something like; 'luck is just bad math, people taking probability and adding things to it.' Same can be said for coincidence.

Subject:Unreadable
Comment:I found this book simply unreadable. Sorry. My poor, little brain just could not cope with all the different threads of thought going in all different directions, not to meet each other ever again. Plaskett's book reminds me of James Joyce: 'On Dec 14, 1999 I played chess with somebody was having lunch with Uri Geller. I found myself singing a song. Day later I went for lunch where Uri was launching. I met this bloke and we had a chat and then we held the spoons. The guy next to me said that his spoon bent but not mine. Then in 1984 I began to keep diary and on May 31st that year I found myself playing a fruit machine. Which I though was shambolic. Then in 1986 we visited this house and came across the Robin Hood. Copenhagen is over one hundred and fifty kilometres from Terndrup, and it is also on a separate island from the Danish mainland. Then on At 6.10 p.m. on February 25th 1988, I was talking with Tony Blott, who I had known since 1982.....'

Subject:coincidences
Comment:Ironic as it may seem that the evaluation proccess for acceptants to this site is an actual coincidence. I cannot review a book that I have yet to read, nor can I understand what I am talking about if the subject is a foggy haze in my mind. Return to your opinions, Tinzy

Subject:Jim Plaskett (What Else?)
Comment:I first had the misfortune to meet Jim Plaskett at the Postsmouth Chess Congress back in the 80's. These pages and his book ( I use the word book in the loosest possible sense) go to confirm my opinion that he is a self-opinionated, self-obsessed twat.

Comment:Hi James. I don't even have to read your book to appreciate where you are coming from having had some life changing coincidences myself. I would recommend looking at for further information Ronald Hull's website. Science is magnification I believe. Best regards Steve Smith

Subject:The identity of the last commentator
Comment:From my files 442)Stephen Smiths On April 14th 2000 I was feeling very angry at the injustice I suffered at school. I very seriously thought about contacting again the new headmaster there, Stephen Smith, to make plain my disgust. Just after that, around 7:15 p.m. I watched Channel 4’s TV news and noted a piece on the downfall of a gangster called Noyes who had been found guilty of a road rage murder. It was observed that he could have been the biggest Godfather in the U.K., but that he now found himself notoriously infamous in a manner for which he had always despised fellow gangsters. The reporter presenting this piece was Stephen Smith. At 5.53 p.m. on May 25th 2000 I received a wrong number call where the caller wanted Steve Smith. PS. Love Mr Bastard!
