Your discussion on acidity intrigued me. I am really puzzled. Check these facts.
1. I suffer from severe intermittent bone pains, usually my hips or lower back
2. I am fairly certain these pains are linked to what I eat or drink. So far I have accused sodas ( as you have suggested) and now I no longer consume them. However, I believe that citrus juices are also a culprit (which conflicts with what you have said)
3) I had no idea about hard cheese, pasta and bread - items I dearly love!!! I will try some changes here.
4) I am beginning to suspect sugar as a culprit. Is sugar linked to increased acidity?
Thanks again for the short article.
I also suffer from high blood acidity and by chance happened upon a vendor at a local flea market who sold alkaline drops and magnesium suspension specifically for this problem. I just started the supplements today (June 14th 2003) and will update weekly to let you know how it is progressing. I will chart my progress through a self administered litmus test and post the results here. I will attempt to avoid acidic foods and beverages and instead lean towards more appropriate substances. Wish me luck!

Many people don't know what is added to city water now. We used to have fluoride added for our teeth. But now they are adding aluminum to water instead of fluoride and sometimes instead of chlorine. I believe the addition of aluminum to our water and foods is just as destructive as the MSG thing. Aluminum is added to help preserve foods, added to salt and other seasoning to help it pour better and resist the clumping or soggy due to collection of moisture from the environment. Ever wonder how the made the potatoe chips CRISPY=ER?? Aluminum doesn't collect moisture so salt can remain easily pouring after long shelf storage in humid seasons. Check it out.
High intake of dairy products REDUCE the risk of ovarian cancer. Google for 'calcium ovarian cancer' because I can't post links here.
Cheers, I like the apple with teeth drawing.
