The saying, "procrastination
is the thief of time" is bull. My diametrically
opposite saying is "procrastination is
the donator of time."
If I didn't procrastinate I wouldn't have any time
left to do what I want to do. And what is the point
of life if you never do what you actually want to do?
Procrastinating is a life saver. It's good for you. Why
do you think it makes you feel so guilty?
The rest of this page about procrastination will be written
soon.
In reply
to John: One point John raised
was (I quote) "Procrastination
is in all reality the thief of the worlds
time. If there were no procrastination
then no one would be late for business
meetings"
Being late is about punctuality, not procrastination.
Not all unpunctuality is due to procrastination.
People can be late because they overslept,
or the trains were running late, or any
of a myriad reasons.
Talking
of business meetings - I know many sad people who love
meetings. And the reason they love them is they can
defer doing any real work. Meetings themselves are a
form of procrastination!!
Business meetings tend to be ill-managed,
as any fule kno, and hence, on average,
they cut down the total amount of productive,
wealth-generating work that gets done.
Now I'm not saying that all meetings are
bad, but 80% of the meetings I have attended
were a waste of time for 80% of those
present for 80% of the time. I wouldn't
mind betting that this is true generally.
Meetings, rather than procrastination, are the thief
of time.
