Chinese takeaways,
Indian curries (as sold in the west), burgers and other processed grub are
sugary, salty and fatty, it is true. But worse they are drenched in an insidious
flavouring chemical called Monosodium Glutamate (MSG). Why is MSG A Bad Thing?
* MSG is a neurotoxin
*
When researchers that study brain disease need
to destroy sections of brains of rodents, they
use MSG to do it! If MSG exterminates brain
and nerve cells so efficiently then why the
hell is our food swimming in the stuff? Is this
some sick Al Qaida chemical warfare terrorist
attack against civilians by contaminating our
food with nerve agents, or is this some sick
ploy by the food business to make lots of lolly
by contaminating our food with nerve agents?
KerChing!
MSG is added to food
because it is a delicious flavour in its own right, a meat-like flavour called
umami. Umami is a flavour detected on the tongue in addition to the familiar
sweet, sour, bitter and salty. (Fat may also be a taste in its own right,
making a sixth flavour). Incidentally the stuff they taught you at school
about tastes being located on different parts of the tongue - sweetness being
associated with the tip of the tongue for example - is a myth).
But given that this tasty umami-flavoured neurotoxin
- MSG - destroys nerve cells, surely having
it force-fed to us is a monumental public health
concern. Few foods are safe, even fruit is contaminated.
Farmers spray fruit with MSG as it grows to
affect the flavour. Next time your brain feels
a bit sluggish, it may be down to something
(nearly everything?) you have eaten.
You might argue that
somebody out there is regulating our dietary intake of MSG. But with politicians
acting as the filthy whores of the food industry, there may be little incentive
for them to stop the insanity. Be aware of what you eat and vote with your
wallet, dear friend.
What about that other sodium chemical: humble
salt? The body's daily minimum requirement of
salt is roughly 500mg, and the maximum safe
amount is approximately 2400mg. Most westerners
consume the maximum quantity at least, often
doubling that. Sodium is a cause of osteoporosis:
salt makes your body to disolve calcium from
your skeleton and literally piss it away. (Another
cause of calcium depletion is high
blood acid).
Salt can be lethal. Recently in England a family
was devastated by salt. Parents fed adult foods
to their baby. The poor creature died of salt
poisoning. In my opinion the government and
the food industry share the blame for such tragedies.
It is widely known that salt causes high blood
pressure (hypertension), which in turn triggers
brain damage via strokes, amongst other maladies.
In order to combat high blood pressure doctors
rarely recommend reducing sodium intake. Instead
they insist you take drugs (Beta blockers),
which are themselves harmful and have side effects.
Insanely, doctors actually profit from drugs
subscriptions. (They do not make money from
advising you to lower your salt intake). And
so the madness continues.
Remember how the industry pushed margarine as more healthy than butter?
Margarine contains "transfats", which displace beneficial omega fats from
cells. Transfats prevent cells from operating properly. Oh dear! Back to butter then.
Supermarket food is also packed with sugar (fructose),
which is not only fattening, it is also arrantly
destructive to the body. (Intriguingly fructose
is substantially more toxic than its simple sweet building block,
glucose). Ever noticed how, half an hour after
eating something sugary, you stop feeling high
and suddenly you feel terrible? That is a sign
you have munched something poisonous.
Sugar (and other simple carbohydrates, like
white flour, pasta etc) causes blood sugar levels
to shoot up. This causes the pancreas to release
insulin, which charges the body to store the
sugar as fat. Sugar is a major cause factor
in making fatties.
In the supermarkets it is a pain to find stuff
without heaps of MSG, salt and sugar added. These
additives are there to make their bland shite
taste more satisfying. Over time these and other
additives are corroding (and fattening) your
body irreparably.
Next time you see ads of smiling faces in your
local supermarket, remember the bastards, in
league with the food industry, are slowly but
surely poisoning you in the name of profits.
Lethargy and premature ageing are just the first
symptoms...
