Subject:enjoyed the article
Comment:Me an Indian - dont know much about yoga - kinda felt uneasy seeing only gray bearded gurus, who didnt seem all that well built and tuned , practised yoga. Recently got a yoga cassette about vinyasa or something like that and it really was a good feeling to do all that. Coming to the point, it really felt good reading your article that yoga helped you too especially since you dont seemed biased into thinking yoga is good for you and u just experienced it. Anyways, thanks and adeiu.

Comment:I'm glad you've started yoga, a little dissapointed in your contempt towards spirituality. Whether we are the centre of any universe is not important to the idea that there are energies we know nothing about. Your site seems pretty cool, but I'm suspicious of 'lovers of wisdom' who negate things as being egotistical by making judgements based on human conditions projected at our universe. If the Universe isn't human(which it isn't) then we can't intrepret it's conquest or lack of conquest the way we would for people. LINE FROM SIMPSONs: GACK: 'If your God is so powerful why would he need us to be worshipping all the time (looking up) Gack just asking' Take care. Oh, and the reason I stumbled unto the site in the first place is I got an email with the subject 'Where you been.' with your domain, so possibly I know you. Yours in electrons, mickey

Subject:Kundalini Yoga Psychotic Episodes
Comment:When you have a minute visit VisionAndPsychosis.Net and then the Qi Gong and Kundalini Psychotic Episode pages there. The problem is real. But it is not caused by Qi Gong or Yoga. It is caused by a conflict of physiology related to the vision startle reflex. Engineers discovered the phenomena over fifty years ago. Workers using the first close-spaced office workstations began to have bizarre or psychotic episodes. The problem was peripheral vision reflexes. The solution for the business office by the 1960's was the Cubicle. Although it is difficult to understand at first, when Yoga or Qi Gong is performed each person can subliminally see movement of the people near them. This is the same problem the engineers discovered. The office workers were sitting as other staff walked by their unprotected workstation. In the two exercise forms the subject and the exercise class are both moving, turning, within their floor space. The relative movement is the same. When enough exposure is reached a dissociative mental break happens. But before the break the process acts as stimulation to subconscious. As long as you do not spend hours each day for day after day exercising you will not have a problem. You will feel better as you progress into your Yoga classes. Case histories from China tell that the victim seems to become addicted to Qi Gong and can't stop exercising. That is what you should avoid. Keep the level of exercise under control. Less is available in the form of case histories for Kundalini Awakening since it is believed to be a religious event. The dissociative episode is mistaken for the arising of the Goddess Kundalini. Subject:Yoga bollocks
Comment:Hi, I found your site using the search term above 'yoga bollocks'. I wasn't disappointed by what I find. I am a physio (physical) therapist based in the UK and see problem after problem that could be prevented by some basic stretching / strengthening regime. I always recommend either yoga or pilates to my clients as a long term to solution to their problems (I've only treated two yoga practitioners in my 10 years of practicing as a physio, one of whom was in her 70s). Having taken up yoga again after a long time away I am sadly turned off by the emphasis on spirituality etc. Unfortunately, as this seems to be a big part of the discipline's origins I suspect it will always be a stumbling block. I believe pilates is much more science based and equally effective so will probably go down that path and avoid the energy wringing exercises you described. Regards. Stewart.

Subject:Yup.
Comment:Exercise: Good. Stretching: Good. Being aware of posture, tension, alignment, etc.: all good. Being part of a commuinity: good. Opening up 'energy' pathways/Chakras/Karma/Infinite wisdom of the universe/etc.: Whatever. I take what what's good from yoga, and there is a lot of it, and leave the spiritual dogma behind. p.s. found your page on google search 'yoga energy bullshit' :)
