this site helps you create copyright licences
that are less restrictive than the draconian
copyright laws. You can fill in a form
and a licence will be generated to your
requirements. For example you might want
a licence that gives permission to others
to use your photographs for free as long
as you get credit. |

| English Heritage | Independent but government-sponsored body responsible for the historic environment of England. I joined this organisation on my visit Stone Henge in 2003. My insane buddy, Madpole, joined also. As a result, we drove off to another supported event nearby, and discovered the grand Fairfax Battalia, see link below. Worryingly, this site does not display without Windows I.E. at time of writing (August 03). I have complained and asked English Heritage to fix this problem and conform to open web standards, not microsoft standards. Sigh. |
| The
Fairfax Battalia | The Fairfax
Battalia recreates a 17th century English infantry company based on Sir Thomas
Fairfax's New Model Army regiment circa 1645. That's the blurb. These guys
re-enact ancient battles. |
| Greenpeace | International non-profit organisation that campaigns to protect the global environment. I joined Greenpeace recently, feeling that, as a consumer, and therefore indirectly destroying the environment, it was ethical to try to mend some of the damage. Greenpeace has national websites for the USA, UK, and many others. |
| Friends Of The Earth | International non-profit organisation that campaigns to protect the global environment. Friends Of The Earth has national websites for the USA, UK, and many others. |
| World Wildlife Fund | Attempt to halt the accelerating destruction of our natural world. |
| National Trust | A charity set up to be a guardian for the nation (UK in the acquisition and protection of threatened coastline, countryside and buildings. |
| Discover Bumblebees | Enjoy one of Nature's most industrious and harmless workers - the Bumble Bee. Here is a more comprehensive site, the Bumble Bee Pages, with info on how your garden can help bumble bees. |
| The Mammal Society | The mission of the Mammal Society is to work to protect British mammals, to halt the decline of threatened species, and to advise on all issues affecting British Mammals. |
| RSPB | The Royal Society for the Protection of Birds (UK) works for a healthy environment rich in birds and wildlife.
|
| Privacy International | Human rights group formed in 1990 as a watchdog on surveillance by governments and corporations.

Of course the above links is rather random and covers just a tiny
fraction of great causes: I've missed out much truly
important stuff. Cancer
research, many environment links, and countless charities are missing for example. I'll
add more links in the fullness of time.
