Tonight the I had grudgingly let my better half
talk me into seeing Lethal Weapon 4. However
kind fortune was smiling on me: LW4 was shown
at an awkward time, so we ending up watching
Something About Mary. Now I had
reliably heard that everything is superior to
Lethal Weapon 4, but by a bizarre twist of fate,
Something About Mary just happened
to be superior to everything else. And we loved
every beautifully timed second of it.
This film will probably irritate all the do-gooders
and a small subset of some special interest
groups but screw them, it is great to see a
return to comedy with no modern moralising to
spoil it. Amazingly there is plenty of old fashioned
moralising going on and that is great.
And wonderfully there appeared to be no sitcom
stars involved to sabotage the fun.
See the film quickly before you forget and enjoy
its daft brilliance, you deserve it. If the
film leaves you cold then see a doctor about
your depression.
I
appear in a cameo appearance and Ms Diaz instantly
falls head over heals in love/lust with me.
But poignantly I confess that these things do
not happen. Even at the flicks. Instead of Heaven
it is Lethal Weapon 4 which awaits. Oh dear.
