| Comment: | I think the Matrix is an ecellent film and that it is great. That actors carry out their parts very well and in the end of the day the graphics are excellent (for the time the film was made) and it made you think about life. I doubt many people left the cinema thinking that nothing about the film was true to life, the plot was good, but a few tweeks would have helped. But the Matrix was an excellent film and I wonder if therer is a type of Matrix out there!?!?!

| Comment: | It is unfortunate that few people can migrate past the seemingly mundane stereotype set by the played out cliche, 'the truth is out there'. As much as I enjoy good episodes of the X-Files, The Matrix cannot be lumped into this simplified category of sci-fi. The movie is multi-faceted, touching on such themes as 'Christ-savior', 'humanity's thirst for misery v. utopia', and 'the search for self'. At the same time the writer and director explore such philosophical topics as self-awareness, freewill, and the essence of knowledge and how it is obtained. The reality check is that even mediocre actors make good movies, not all violent movies need bloodshed, and not all self-proclaimed philosophers and critics are what they think they are. |

| Comment: | Rating 5/5. Why? Cause this show made sense, acting was good i.e., appropriate. Special FX was tastefully done. When a show makes sense, I find it an enjoyable viewing. Follow me on this : You are in the matrix, your consciousness within this huge computer or network of computers. To defeat the bad guys you carry huge guns to blast away the bad guys. Within this world/program it is the equivalent of calling up a string of instructions which effectively neutralizes another program/task a.k.a the bad guys(for the time being), until ofcourse you realize you're not just another program with some AI subroutines but something else totally apart, you are enlightened, you can achieve mastery over the environment/program and it no longer holds you captive, rather you willed yourself within this program to manipulate it in any way you see fit. Makes sense to me, dunno about the rest of you halfwits. About that resurrection...it can be rationalized or subject to debate, but then again I heard Matrix Reloaded involves actually being within a matrix within a matrix. Sort of like a nested program. Whoa, that's deep. 5/5 for a well done film. Eadon can't review for peanuts. I'm not even going to bother coming to this site for the reviews again. |

| Comment: | The idea behind the movie was facinating. The special effects were awesome. The acting,...YOU ARE THE WEAKEST LINK!
When you go to the movies you are supposed to suspend belief. At least that's what the pathetic directors tell you when they can't make a cool movie without breaching the laws of logic. I really liked this movie but critics don't usually go around hyping up a movie. In that vain, I would like to trash it for this reason...
I just couldn't get over the whole oracle crap. Everyone knows that you can't know the future. IF the whole movie wasn't based on Neo being the 'One', I could forgive them. |

| Comment: | And let us not forget one other important factor of the movie: it is a trilogy. Hence Eadon took a bit gamble slagging it off because the bits which don't make sense to him now (including 'mindless' violence - very appriopriate term is we are talking about computer generated violence) might make sense later. My impression is that Matrix was just introduction to the movie ( and wow - what an introduction it was!) to allow us to embrace few mental concepts and digest them before the REAL movie starts. I agree with others that it appears that Eadon's judgements prevented film from enjoying the film. So I recommend watching it again, now that no more judgement is necessary - and enjoy the action, looking for little clues which prepare us for the 2nd part. All might not be what it seems Eadon hehehehehe |

| Comment: | Is there a method to the madness? I rated the movie as okay because yeah it was mindlessly entertaining(okay maybe not totally mindless but mostly). I agree that the shooting was just too much as was the fighting -- I expected Bruce Lee to show up and help out, but then again Superman Neo needed no help. Too much of a love story emerged for me -- and I'm a touchy feely type babe. Gratutious sex scene early on, pithy one-liners, a freeway chase...the movie went totally Hollywood...think the Untouchables meets Superman meets AI meets Enter the Dragon meets Shaft (I had to throw that in because Laurence Fishbourne is a bad motha shut your mouth). |

| Subject: | The Matrix is an old story retold |
| Comment: | I don't know why I feel a need to bother saying this but I will anyways.
The Matrix is not simply meant to entertain you in your big plush theater seat. If you can't understand the symbolism behind the movie that is fine. If you CHOOSE not to understand it that is also fine. But the Matrix and Matrix 2 are trying to tell you a story in a very symbolic language that some people understand. ie. read a book and figure out what those big words mean! Get up off the lazy boy! ie. Merovingian, Nebuchadnezzar, Zion, Persephone and THE MATRIX. The Matrix and Red pill are alchemical concepts borrowed by the W. Bros. Why not be PROACTIVE, take the red pill yourself and ASK WHY they did it?
Or sit back and remain a slave. |

I just said it would be the truth. <========= NEXT LINE ========> Neo: What are you trying to tell me, that I can dodge bullets? <========= NEXT LINE ========> Morpheus: No Neo. I'm trying to tell you that when you're ready, you won't have to. |
