| Subject: | MEMENTO DVD -- Question |
| Comment: | Okay, I read that the movie can be watched 'forward' on the DVD -- that it is hard to figure out how to access but that it was possible. True or false? If it is true, how do you get there? We've tried everything we could think of! |

| Comment: | I haven't tried it yet so hold your breath as I am holding mine! But I do recall that there is a 'Hidden Special Feature' mentioned on the DVD - I just never bothered to follow it up so thank You very much Carla for your inquiring mind!
Here are 2 different instructions (depending on DVD):
Hidden Version of the Film (REGION 2 ONLY)
Access the [Special Features] section of the DVD. Wait for the [Memento Mori] picture to move and the pic of Leonard with a pic in his mouth to take up most of the screen. Press [Enter]. A screen will come up telling you you have found the hidden version of the film. Click on [Play]. Watch the film in chronological order including the end credits rolling backwards at the beginning and the opening segment running forwards.
Watch Film in Chronological Order (LIMITED EDITION VERSION)
Insert disc two from the Limited Edition set, then select the [Clock]. Select answer 'c' 5 times. When you reach the question where you put the pictures in order of the woman fixing her tire, put them in REVERSE order (3, 4, 1, 2), rather than the correct order, and you will be taken to the chronological version of the film, complete with backwards credits and the opening scene in forward motion. |

| Comment: | I tried the 'Hidden Feature' option and it worked! Watching the film in 'normal order' is quite educating. First of all - it teaches one a lot about film making and how different feelings and illusions can be manipulated. Secondly one realizes that the original 'direction' of the film (i.e. reverse) was not invented to make film more dramatic and in order to hide certain inaccuracies - in fact opposite is the true. Watching the film in 'normal order' made me realize why the film was branded 'a thriller' - the film is much stronger and sicker when watched in time-sequence. |

| Comment: | Your scenario of the movie begins with mention of long term memory loss when in actuality the character in this movie suffers from -short-term memory loss. Very crucial to the entire point of the movie. |

| Comment: | You can access the chronological order movie (on a PC) if you press 5 when the menu for disc 2 appears (I use PowerDVD). Alternatively, click below the four menu items, a horizontal line below the other four will appear if you click at the right distance. |
