| Comment: | EMPs only cause interference, they don't actually destroy any electronic device. The theory behind it taking out a power grid is by traveling through power lines, so the electrical devices that aren't hooked up to the power grid wouldn't be effected at all if they weren't in the blast radius. In addition the props team for this movie knew that it was imposible to actually do that much damage with such a small device, but the movie is great besides that fact.
The reason that Bernie Mac got fired from the casino was as a distraction for Benedict so that the 'LGC person' could pickpocket the vault codes from him. |

| Comment: | they had to fire bernie mack in order to get matt damon inside the secret chamber halls or whatever. which was why brad pitt said he has to like you then forget you. once matt damon started the job, he had to get benedict to like him enough to bring him into those secret chambers which required authorized access that the gang didnt have. once he got in, he had to make benedict forget about him in order to stay in. so basically, bernie mack was put in place so that matt damon could fire him after benedict brings him into the secret chambers. also, as an employee in the casino, he provided them with valuable scouting information. as well, if they didnt fire bernie mack it'd look stupid when they finished the job and all of them are leaving and he's still dealing cards. |
