Comment:It is rather obvious and funny that eadon himself became the latest victim of 'Biblical Craze' created by this movie who, instead of reviewing the movie, fell into a very common trap of reviewing religion instead. What does, for example, Islam has to do with this movie? I still haven't worked that one out -does the movie suggests or proves that Jews, even with their ups and downs, are still 'better' than Muslims? Is that what this movie is about? And what is all this 'Biblical accuracy' scrutiny–99% of the times carried out by people who are not religious but also haven't read the Bible even once. It sounds to me that this movie was made by Christian for Christians and it brilliantly exposes how much ignorance there is in our modern society when it comes to religion It also clearly achieved its most important goal: it made Jesus and Christian religion conversational topic around the globe There is one insight in eadon's review which I find equally fascinating and worrying and which this film manifests: our modern, scientific, technological, global communications world is increasingly becoming more and more religious. Technology and science not only didn't thwart the religion–but it seems that quite the opposite has happened: the global terrorist alert, war with Iraq, bombings in Spain and now this movie – one could conclude that we are entering the dark ages of the religious wars – and that it is science and technology which enabled this to happen. Consider this movie together with 'Matrix'–and it is indeed difficult to stop oneself speculating whether both movies weren't made in a clever and discreet collaboration and whether Hollywood is not turning into most powerful, sublime religious propaganda machine this world has ever experienced.

Comment:Madpole, what are you doing here? As the author of the above movie review, I should point out that reviewing religions having not read (in their entirety) the Bible etc is one thing, but to review a movie without having seen the movie, as I presume you are doing, is particularly impressive! Long may we bask in reflected hypocrisy! As for technology, this is true, the Internet is accelerating the rate at which bullshit propagates accross the globe, it is the perfect medium for nutters to absorb propaganda. Technology may be neutral, but its results shall surely be an increase in ignorance, hence more religion. If this sounds like a paradox, it should be noted that the Internet has, in defiance of virtually all predictions, singularly failed to halt evil dictatorships in their tracks.

Comment:Beautiful description with the child and the matchsticks. Well done. You know, aside from having a better ending, I think Life of Brian had more spiritual value as well. In fact, Mel should have just gotten a copy of it, renamed it The Passion, and passed it off as his. I think that would have made everyone a lot happier.

Comment:So, so much to do over an individual who never existed and an event that never happened. The Xtianity Show is the greatest hoax ever perpetrated on the gullible human race, a cascade of events and deceipt, from Saul/Paul to Constatine, preying on illiteracy and stupidity. Here is a top ten list of things to do while watching this awful film....................................... 10. When struggling through the streets with the cross, point out that he would get voted off Survivor in, like, three days. 9. When they dress Jesus in purple and a crown of thorns, shout, 'FAB - U - LOUS!!' 8. Keep asking loudly why Mad Max hasn't shown up on-screen yet. 7. When Jesus says 'why have you forsaken me' : 'Who's you daddy now, motherfucker ?' 6. Whenever we see Christ on the cross, just yell out in your best Monty Python voice, 'It's _just_ a muppet!' 5. Insist on translating every subtitle into pig latin. Out loud. Very loud. 4. When they show the crosses at Calvary, begin singing, loudly 'Always look on the bright side of life!' 3. When soldiers pierce his side, yell, 'Piñata!' 2. Every 5 minutes shout 'Where's the fucking muppet?' At the end of the film, during the credits, when it says Muppeteer', scream 'THERE'S the fucking muppet!' And now, the number one thing to shout out during the film ... 1. Shout 'USE YOUR SAFE-WORD, JESUS! THE SAFE WORD!'

Comment:The more I hear about this movie the less I want to see it and Thank You Mr Andrew and Mr Sherman for pointing out to me why. Violence and distress never solves anything and after reading comments here and EVERYWHERE ELSE (hehehehe) about this movie I am starting to have a terrible suspicion that it is all about 'recycling' – the fact that new messiah still haven't showed up creates a lot of tension in religious discussions between 'believers' and 'non-believers' and Mel came up with a simple solution: 'Hey! We do not need 'new' Jesus! – We can reuse the old one!' Sounds to me that Mel just re-crucified Jesus, arrogantly I find it very depressing – even Christians are not capable of learning the 'Jesus lesson' – they just want to do the same thing over and over again. Andrew's comment is wonderful for it make me realize that 'Life of Brian' is one of the most influential films I have seen – it made me a 'religious person'. Why? Again – I can only thank Mr Andrew and Mr Sherman for this revelation – 'Life of Brian' is a deeply loving, caring and philosophical movie – it has changed my life forever. Mel's movie sounds like torture manual – sounds like it will change lives of people – but I can only pray I won't be one of them hehehehehe. Violence never solves anything but seems like we as 'humanity' will never learn that.

Comment:Found the review totally unhelpful, had little context to the genre of the 'ChristCinema'. Thought the film was a suberb telling of the grtetest story concept. Please! the materials are limited and Gibson has proved himself to be one of the biggest grossing directors ever in the history of the Jewish Hollywood, with fundamentally an honest anti-semtic interpretation to celluloid. Go figure. I see you use a biblical image as the basis for your pages, the apple of temptation? is this a Freudian slip? With out being nasty, The Passion will stand the test of time, which is more than we can say for your website. Release Roger! jvs

Comment:ok man, i have been looking over your site in order to 'open my mind' to your point of view. you say that christians base thier beliefs on faith, and that you base your beliefs on scientific fact or proof. first, prove to me that you love your mother or father. second, show me the big bang theory. third, give me one example of macroevolution recorded. you cannot prove any of the above, yet you believe them. that is faith if i have ever seen it. you also refer to 'the fact of evolution' when it is not even a theory. i will include some references at the bottom, if you would like to 'open your mind' to my belief. evolution, as well as biblical creation, cannot be proven by the scientific method because it cannot be 'observed', 'tested', or recreated. that is simple. suprisingly, i agree with a lot of what you say on this site. no one should be close minded in their belief. you should constantly test it and reaffirm it or it is nothing but a dead idea. i encourage you to follow your own instructions and research my sources. i have read yours and opened my eyes to some undeniable truths. now...please open your eyes. you are a very intelligent man by what i have read. you constantly think and truly strive to know the truth as i strive also. i will be praying for you and i hope that god helps to open the eyes of your heart. thank you for reading my comment. ~with respect~ Bryan -Sources- 1.Tornado In A Junkyard by James Perloff 2.Evolution, The Fossils Say No! by Duane T. Comment:You are verry good at sorting out the phisical worlds laws of Phisics, perhaps there is a mirror dimention at a slightly different frequency, as the two colided, 'Hay, Presto' the big bang! We see our Universe but we feel the other! Complete with it's own laws, ie: No time and so eternal, no fixed point perspective, can be any ware and everywhere at once even along the time line how we connect? Through 'the eternal second' ps. If you studied philosophy you would know that The Christ was and is through time the 'Perfect Sacrifice' for the wrongs of every single individual, who after all is perfect? Perfecction slamd into imperfection the natural law will try and ballance it all to a mean state, reguardless of the fact we cant see most of the spctrum, do we dismiss the wind? infared, ultraviolet, xrays of corse not we have proved them, what about beings from an alternative dimention overlayed on our own, perhaps like sheet theory two slighly different dimentions colide, we will never be able to prove its existance with tools from our universe dimention

Subject:Jesus is God....
Comment:In your 'review' you ask why God didn't take responsibility himself. The answer is that he did. Jesus is God. God is God the Father, God the Son (The Word, Jesus) and God the Holy Spirit. So God did personally come down to Earth and take our sins on himself. Other than that, you have spent quite a large percentage of your review putting forward your atheistic views, albeit in a semi apologetic way. 'Jesus was one of the most boring famous speakers that ever existed. If he existed.' Erm, no! Jesus drew large crowds of people who came to hear him speak. He was far from boring! His words have been heeded by countless billions, and even atheists seem to be able to find reasons to talk about Him, and even find offence in the radical teachings of Jesus. My point here is simply that most people don't find him boring. You didn't seem to state this as being just your opinion. But that's all it is. If you read the Bible, I will pray that the Holy Spirit leads you to be humble and except the truth of the words of God as recorded in it.
