Can someone please explain to me the ending of that piece of crap hack of the Planet of The Apes??
Start of film : Stardate 2029
Bloke sends chimp to almost certain death during the investigation of a mysterious 'Electrical storm type thingy'
Bloke goes after chimp - gets stuck in a time-warp etc etc. goes forward to 2500 or 2600 something or other in the future.
Lands on planet - NOT Earth
Saves lots of people from a life of Slavery at the hands of their intellectually inferior Masters (sounds familiar ;-) )
Miraculously a few days later the chimp that the bloke went after arrives to save the day - just at the instant the Bloke was about to get his head kicked in by a Monkey (sorry Ape). What a jolly good stroke of luck!
Bloke gives the chimp a 'thumbs up' - looks at the scanner - 'Cool - that storm I went into at the start of the film is just a few million miles away'
Bloke says 'Stuff that - I'm off' - snogs a Monkey (sorry - Ape!) and then legs it - ironically leaving behind the chimp he risked his life to save at the start of the film - hows that for loyalty!
Bloke goes to storm - gets chucked BACK in time this time (must've entered the other side of the storm on this occassion) - goes back to Stardate 2145 or near as dammit!
Bloke spots Earth - same shaped Continents etc.. Lands in Washington by a monument in a deserted park.
Bloke admires statue of Monkey (sorry Ape) and turns round to be greeted by a bunch of Monkeys (sorry Apes) who have taken over Earth and learnt to speak in just over 100 years - hows that for fast-forwarding Darwins theory of Evolution?
Whitey's suggested ending:
Bloke looks around at all the 'Apes' and craps himself only for all the 'Apes' to whip the heads of their gorilla suits and shout 'GOTCHA!'
all i can think of about the end is...
the ape's planet is not Earth, and when fighting against them, he thinks: 'only in this world are apes smarter and more powerful than humans, because in my planet, this would never happen'. and he also thinks 'in the futurem apes are taking control of humans, but that is only in the future, because in my time this would never happen'...however, when he leaves the planet, he goes to his planet...and he finds out that the thing about apes controlling humans is occuring since his time, but nor he or anyone had never noticed.
is this right or not?
thx,
