Subject:Any key?
Comment:Are we born a flute, tympani, violin ... that can play in varying number of keys; or are we rapidly reprogrammable synthesizers that can play in any key?

Comment:The answer is both. If you are a hard working individual then you want to take the time to learn notes and practice a craft that has been developed and improvised for centuries. These people only think of computers as helping what they already know, but now people are getting lazy and using computers or 3 chord songs to get the benefits of music (drugs, money, and hot women) without doing any of the ACTUAL work. We need to get back to the point where music is beautiful because it came out of instinct, not some short-cut used just to get ass!

Comment:We don't 'need' to do anything... for it is generally total waste of time saying such thing... 'we need to bring this or other back'... 'we need to go to our roots.. tune to our Universal cords.. blah...' we say those things in order not to do them....Music is an abstract thinggie... so is tree...so is everything else.. life is nothing but orchestrated cords... I am less in tune with the tree than with some bloke playing guitar on the street.. despite the fact that I pass 100s of trees everyday... and I occasionaly come across some bloke playing guitar on the street (it is too cold for him now)... so my point? You tell me!

Subject:Are you serious?
Comment:Is this a joke? 'Music is the key to unlocking the secrets of who we are' 'Even when we speak we speak in musical keys' 'Dancing to music is hardwired into the most primitive and ancient parts of our brains' Poetry? Metaphor? Certainly not philosophy. Could you poosibly be serious?

Subject:music is divine
Comment:I really cannot explain what music means to me but my whole life revolves around it.I believe music is mathematics.DO i sound crazy?I dont think so.Every beat, every rythmn and everythng about music is based on certain counts. It does not mean that we need to be a mathematician to accomplish excellence in music.i guess everyone know how to count right? However a true musician is one who not only knows how to count, but also should express his feelings and emotions along with the beats.i accept every kind of music but JAZZ,INDIAN CLASSICAL,blues and rock appeals to me most......

Subject:music and meaning
Comment:For the moment I hold a belief that musics meaning exists on a continuum between referentialism (what music can refer to) and absolutism (music existing as form and stucture). My position is absolutist, I feel that music is about form and structure and that through time music has the power to evoke a variety of meanings. For me the power of music is a random and abstract process (but not always) between listener and musical event.
